About The Arlington Chamber of Commerce

With integrity and passion, the Arlington Chamber of Commerce fosters a vital and thriving community in which to work and live. Serving as a liaison between businesses and residents, the Chamber provides valuable resources, programs, business tools and services for its members to help them succeed.

The Chamber is where connections are made and business happens. Its goal is to create, develop, and provide its members with as many opportunities as possible to promote their businesses. The Chamber's current initiatives include:

Storefront Improvement Program

The Chamber is collaborating with the Arlington Redevelopment Baord to promote this program and has done so with the February 28 breakfast meeting to launch the program, via its weekly email newsletter to Chamber members and through public relations outreach. It was the catalyst that led to three Chamber member banks making available small, below market-rate loans to participating business owners who need financing to implement their improvement plans.

Shop Arlington First™, promoting commerce with local businesses
A bustling downtown fosters a vibrant community. The Chamber of Commerce wants you to think of Arlington first when you spend your shopping dollars, which is why it created Shop Arlington First, a gift certificate program promoting local commerce.

Shop Arlington First gift certificates are redeemable at participating businesses, listed on www.ShopArlingtonFirst.com. The lucky recipient of a Shop Arlington First gift certificate gets to choose where to spend it

Since its launch in 2004, the Chamber has sold more than $70,000 in gift certificates, of which more tna 60% have been redeemed.

The Chamber also organizes Shop Arlington First Lights, a family-oreinted event to kick off the holiday shopping season. Last year it introduced the Big Red Stocking Raffle and donated more than $1,200 to the town's holiday help program. Local businesses donated gifts and coupons.

Doing Business in Arlington Hot Sheet

Launched an initiative to help businesses in town navigate their way through the town's permits and regulations. In collaboration with the Town Planning Deparmtent, the Chabmer created a hot sheet, a handy reference guide to save business owners headaches, delays, fines and frustration.
